Race to and fro the stadium
Finishing second to Shirah in the male division was Stacey Lemay of Florence with a time of 19:08.6. Alex Morris of Danville came in third with a time of 20.08.
The Hartselle runner with the fastest time was Ben Paulson, who runs for the Hartselle Tigers. He came in fifth with a time of 20.39.5.
Hartselle High School head football coach Bob Godsey was well pleased with the turnout for the run.
“This is about twice the number of participants we had last year,” Godsey said. “That’s great. We want to continue to build support for the run.”
“We have 200 kids from grades seven through 12 involved in our football program,” he said. “It requires a lot of funding to meet their needs, plus we want to do anything we can to continue the improvement of our facilities.”
He said the football stadium would get a new scoreboard this year.
