John Phillip Davis

Funeral for John Phillip Davis, 83, of Hartselle was Monday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Walters officiating.
Burial was in Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Danville.
Mr. Davis died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, in Birmingham. He served in the U. S. Army as a staff sergeant in World War II and was awarded the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and American Theatre Ribbon. He was retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority and Athens Utilities. He was a longtime member of Decatur Elks Club and American Legion. He was a wonderful husband, father, and beloved grandfather who was devoted to his family and many friends. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with his dog Bubba
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Davis. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ozell Davis of Hartselle; three sons, Larry "Bill" Penn and wife Madeline of Pulaski, Tenn., Jerry Penn and wife Sandra of Decatur and Tommy Penn and wife Rhonda of Hartselle; two daughters, Gayle Norman and husband Doug of Decatur and Martha Alsbrooks of Huntsville; seven grandchildren, Cathy Bedingfield, Michael Collum, Toni Barnes, Larry Penn Jr., Tina St. John, Tisha Wilburn, and Cora Angiulli; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Michael Collum, Cole Patterson, Bobby Beddingfield,. Jon Anguilli, Blair Davis and Lynn Haynes.
Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Wayne Burgess and Larry Abercrombie.
