June 28, 1957-The two churches holding revival services in Hartselle, Bethel Baptist and Hartselle Methodist, have reported large crowds at each service.

July 2, 1957-Many Hartselle readers are finding the book "Peyton Place" by Grace Metalious a book they simply can't put down once they start reading it. It's number one on the national best seller list.
July 3, 1957-Here are some prices of produce currently at local grocery stores. Lemons are 23 cents a dozen, cabbage is 5 cents a pound, bananas are 15 cents a pound, and you can get 6 ears of corn for 25 cents.
July 4, 1957-The Highway Patrol reported an accident-less day in Morgan County on this national holiday despite greater than average traffic.
However, Sheriff Jimmie Collier did apprehend three for VPL infractions, two for public drunkenness, and one for safekeeping (insanity).
July 4, 1957-Mr. and Mrs. Doc Jones hosted Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Jones and family, residents of Detroit, at a picnic at the Jones residence on West Chestnut Street.
