Falkville High School has announced its 2012-2013 junior high cheerleaders and mascots. They are Mackenzie Bailey, Paige Garner, Chelsie Lee, Claudia Miller – mascot, Natalie Pugh – mascot, Sydnie Ricks, Alex Walling, Kianna West, Isabelle Wilbanks – mascot and Brittany Wilson. Sponsor is Sandra Holmes.

Potato Salad

6 red potatoes

2 boiled eggs

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 T. mustard

2 T. pickle juice

1 packet Sweet n’ Low

2 or 3 pickles, sliced

(pickles of your choice, but sweet pickles are the best)

Wash the potatoes with a brush and cook until tender. Leave the peelings on when cooking. Cut the potatoes into pieces with peelings still on. Add other ingredients and mix well.

Spring Salad

2 packages orange gelatin

2 cups hot water

1 cup pineapple juice

1 medium can pineapple

Dissolve gelatin in hot water, add juice and pineapple. Refrigerate until firm. Makes 16 servings.

Tossed Salad

1/2 head lettuce, chopped

1/2 cup finely chopped celery

2 tomatoes

Combine all ingredients and toss lightly. Serve with your favorite salad dressing and crackers.

Summer Delight

1 pound ground chuck

1 large onion chopped

1 can tomatoes

3 garlic, chopped

1 pound macaroni cooked

1 can cream style corn

Mix ground chuck, onion and garlic and brown. Combine other ingredients, and mix thoroughly. Bark 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
