Weddings and Engagements

Holmes, Bartee exchange vows
The marriage of Chelsea Nichole Holmes and PFC. Brandon Michael Bartee took place Jan. 27, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Eva with Rev. Joey Smithson officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Gerald Holmes of Eva, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bartee of Lacey’s Spring.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride wore a gown of ivory bridal satin accented with a delicate beaded design on the bodice and featuring beaded spaghetti straps. Her veil was ivory tulle and she carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
Alyssa Bartee, sister of the groom, of Lacey’s Spring was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jessica Murphree and Brittni Springer from Eva and Dempsey Stanfield of Lacey’s Spring.
Flower girls were Alexis Bennett of Eva and Heather Gilmore of Lacey’s Spring. Ring bearer was Dalton Gilmore of Lacey’s Spring.
Best man was Christopher Bartee of Lacey’s Spring, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Michael Bartee and Rodney Gilmore of Lacey’s Spring and Daniel Holmes of Eva.
The wedding director was Janie Turner. The wedding assistants were Sandra Harmon, Deborah Fowler, Diana Brooks and Cynthia Burgess.
The guest book was kept by Mandy Burks and Natalie Fagerman.
The reception was held in the fellowship hall at Rock Creek Baptist Church.
The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents.
After a wedding trip to Orange Beach the couple will live in Okinawa, Japan.
Kelley, Dutton to wed
Jerry and Pam Kelley of Decatur announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Denise Kelley, to Justin Brad Dutton, son of Porter Jr. and Donna Dutton of Moulton.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Annie Kelley of Decatur, Heddy Thompson and the late J.W. Thompson of Decatur. She is a 2002 graduate of Decatur High School and is office manager at ACS Inc. in Decatur.
The future groom is the grandson of Porter Sr. and Ida Dutton of Moulton and the late Shelby Culver Hamby of Hatton. He is a 2002 graduate of Lawrence County High School and attended Calhoun Community College. He is employed with 3M in Decatur.
The wedding is planned for Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church.
Murdock, Menendez to exchange vows
Judge and Mrs. Glenn Murdock of Birmingham announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Kendall, to Matthew Becker Menendez, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald York Menendez of Birmingham.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Billy Alford Murdock of Enterprise and the late Marguerita Huey Murdock and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Gilchrist of Hartselle.
She is a graduate of Mountain Brook High School and a summa cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University where she received her bachelor of arts degree in communication studies. She is a member of ODK and Mortar Board honoraries and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was presented at the Ball of Roses. She is employed by JH Ranch in Birmingham.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Menedez of Memphis, Tenn. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin Gelzer of Atlanta, Ga. He is a graduate of Mountain Brook High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in economic from Vanderbilt University, where he graduated with honors
He is a member of ODK leadership honorary. He is employed in Birmingham by White Plume Technologies and currently serves on the Board of Directors of The United Way of Central Alabama.
The wedding is planned for April 21, 2007 at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
