F.E. Burleson celebrates Blue Ribbon School status

F.E. Burleson Elementary School rolled out the blue carpet to celebrate its status as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence “Lighthouse School” during an assembly in the school gymnasium on Friday.

Students marched into the gym, class after class, waving blue shakers and cheering to the beat of loud music. They were accompanied by the teaching staff, support staff and about 100 parents.

Blue Balloons were displayed throughout the gym; some of the students wore blue caps; the blue “Lighthouse School” banner was brought in by the Student Council; and older students added to the carnival atmosphere by turning flips and cartwheels on a mat in the center of the gym.
