Dec. 21, 1956 – Four passengers were injured in a two-car wreck at 7:30 a.m. today 1.4 miles south of Hartselle on county road 21. Allen Robinson, Hartselle 1, was rushed to Hartselle Hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.
Dec. 22, 1956 – Falkville is a much brighter community this holiday season. City officials have put up Christmas street decorations and lights for the first time in Falkville’s existence.
Dec. 22, 1956 – Brenda Aldridge entertained her friends and classmates with a Christmas party at her home tonight.
Dec. 23, 1956 – The fourth grade class of the Hartselle Elementary School, which is taught by Frances Price, sent $3 to CARE this week, the money to be used to buy food for Hungarian refugees.
Dec. 23, 1956 – The First Baptist Church moved into its beautiful new building on North Sparkman Street for all services today. The congregation was unusually joyful in singing inspirational Christmas carols and hearing a sermon on the birth of Christ.
Dec. 24, 1956 – Dean Jones, popular Morgan County singer and movie actor, is spending Christmas here with relatives. His third film, “The Great American Pastime,” opens tomorrow, Christmas Day, at the Bowline Drive-in Theatre. Dean will appear at the theatre in person in connection with this premier local showing.
Dec. 24, 1956 – Martha Jean Channell hosted a Christmas Eve reunion of the MCHS class of 1953 at her home on Rock Street tonight.
Dec. 25, 1956 – Christmas parties have abounded in Hartselle this holiday season. One of the best was that hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Raymon Baker for members of their Sunday school class, the couples class of Grace Baptist Church, Decatur. Many celebrations continued throughout this Christmas Day.
Dec. 26, 1956 – The Morgan County United Fund will have to operate with some $17,000 less than its budget committee had decided was necessary since this year's campaign fell short of the $103,000 quota by this amount.
Dec. 27, 1956 – Charlie Williams, long-time janitor for Hartselle Elementary School and sexton for the First Methodist Church, was hit by a car and suffered a broken shoulder this afternoon as he returned to his home on McGough Street following his visit to a neighbor.
