Weddings and engagements

Brown, Gilliland exchange vows
Tonya Kay Brown of Falkville and Donovan Blake Gilliland of Cullman were wed June 23, 2006, at Quail Creek Golf Resort.
The bride is the daughter of Mickey and Rhonda Brown of Falkville. The groom is the son of Bobby and Shelaine Gilliland of Cullman.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a white designer strapless organza A-line gown with satin draping. It featured pink metallic and rhinestone embroidery on the bust line, draped down front and train.
Her two-tier veil was trimmed in satin with crystals throughout.
She carried a bouquet of white roses with pink tea roses and greenery.
Rachael Holmes of Falkville was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Aimee Stinson of Hartselle, Leslie Jones of Vinemont, and Ashley Patterson of Cullman.
Molly Gilliland of Knoxville, Tenn., niece of the groom, was flower girl.
The groom’s father was best man.
Groomsmen were Heath Gilliland of Knoxville, brother of the groom, Mickey Brown of Falkville, brother of the bride, and Ray Lott of Cullman.
Gunner Slaten of Hartselle, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Alex and Tyler Gilliland, sisters of the groom, attended the bride’s book.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the resort.
The couple honeymooned in Chattanooga, Tenn. They reside in Falkville.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner with a barbecue theme at Quail Creek Golf Resort.
The couple was honored with several prenuptial events, including:
Davidson, Woodard to wed
Dan and Cindy Davidson of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Ree Davidson of Gardendale, to Brandon Wayne Woodard of Morris, son of Kenneth and Linda Woodard of Morris.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jimmy and Valla Ree Roberts of Hartselle and Vennie Davidson and the late Harold Davidson of Marion, Ind. She is a 2001 graduate of Hartselle High School and 2005 graduate of Auburn University. She works as a financial assistant at University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) in the grants and contracts accounting department.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Jackie Varden and the late Earl Varden of Gardendale and Avelene Woodard and the late Elmer Woodard of Warrior. He is a 2002 graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School and is currently attending Jefferson State Community College. He will be transferring to Jacksonville State University to pursue a degree in electronics engineering technology.
He is employed with United Parcel Service (UPS).
The wedding April 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Wilson’s Wedding Chapel in Gardendale.
