Three Hartselle Junior High School students are walking the walk to help the families of victims of the tragic school bus accident in Huntsville last week.
After best friends Sierra Chaney, Marty Beth Moore and India Abernathy watched a newscast on the I-65 crash on the first day of their Thanksgiving holiday break, they decided to act on their heartfelt sorrow and find a way to help.
The day after Thanksgiving they were joined by India and extended their door-to-door
fundraising campaign. At the end of the day on Saturday they had collected about $190 and placed donation jugs at Las Vias Restaurant and Hometown Grocery. When HJHS Principal Don Pouncey heard about their project on Monday he agreed to spread the word throughout the school and give students the opportunity to made donations throughout the week.
All three girls agreed that helping others is a good way to make you feel better about yourself.
