Funeral for Novil Lillian Bates, 76, of Hartselle was Tues., Jan. 31. at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Mrs. Bates died Sat., Jan. 28, 2012, at her son’s residence in Haleyville. She was born Aug. 30, 1935, in Morgan County to Homer and Delia Cryer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Joe Bates.

She is survived by a son, O’neal Bates of Haley-ville; two brothers, Olan Cryer of Florida and Ollie Cryer of Somerville; a sister, Mildred Wiggington of Hartselle; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren,

Pallbearers were family members and friends.
