Priceville Jr. High’s boys basketball team won the county tournament Saturday night at Brewer. Priceville used an extended second half run to take control of the game and defeat Danville 34-24 to win the Morgan County Jr. High Boys Tournament at Brewer High School Saturday night.

The key moment occurred in the third quarter when Danville’s Andreas Cordova picked up his fourth foul. When he went to the bench, Danville led 15-14.

That’s when the Bulldogs took over the game. Brandon Dinh made a pair of 3-pointers to give PJHS a 21-17 lead at the end of the third quarter.

That 9-2 run would prove to be too much as Priceville pulled away down the stretch with a few more clutch shots.

Kyle Haynes led the Bulldogs with 10 points followed by Dinh with 9, Kaleb Barker with 7, Jarrod McKelvy with 3, Dylan Cross with 2, Marc McClendon with 2 and John Williams with 1.

Danville was led by Isaiah Moore with 8 followed by Andreas Cordova with 4, Eric Orr with 4, Drew Fitzgerald with 3, Alan Cordova with 3 and Wade Vest with 2.

Named to the all-tournament team were Haynes, Barker and McLendon from PJHS; Andreas Cordova, Alan Cordova and Moore from DMS; Riley Hall and Matthew Murphree from Eva; Thomas McDowra from Decatur Heritage; Dakota Bennett from Eva; Nick Martin and Ryan Sullivan from Falkville; Hunter Swafford and John Jay Graves from Lacey’s Spring; Ryan Hernandez from Sparkman; Logan Gibson from Union Hill; and J.T. Kirby and Keandre Swopes from West Morgan Middle.
