Police find drugs in stolen trailer

Police recovered much more than a stolen travel trailer in Hartselle Tuesday. They also found a stash of drugs and money.

Decatur PD recovered the stolen trailer at 803 Nelson St. in Hartselle. Officers also found marijuana in the trailer and called the Morgan County Drug Task Force was called to the scene along with ABC State Police and Hartselle Police.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers located more than one pound of marijuana, $2,000 cash, scales and two pistols.
John Phillip Howell, 32, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana first degree. He also has pending charges with Decatur PD for the stolen trailer.
The suspect was taken to the Morgan County Jail.
