Segars enters pro-mod class

Tim Segars and wife Karen along with the Batman crew have put the Batmobile into a competitive position in the pro-mod class.

The Batman crew consists of Wayne Mahaffey, Greg Roberts, Tim Looney, Mickel Gillispie (Joker), Alan McMullan and helpers Zac Owens, Paul Wilson and machinists Tim Nelson and Donnie Sutherland and Speedy’s Speed Shop.They have a special show with the joker. He dresses the part and gets the crowd all excited. Tim lives in Hartselle with wife Karen and works at Ascend Chemical in Decatur. He also owns and operates Tim Segars Tree and Stump Removal. He has been bringing the car up to the current level for the past two years. The Batmobile is a 1962 Impala with a 526 cubic inch Brad Anderson Blown Hemi.

The Batmobile’s quickest time is 3.93 and traveliing at 186 MPH . Tim has built his car trying to use local businesses such as Hartselle’s NAPA Auto Parts and O’Reilly’s whenever he can. Larry’s Signs in Hartselle wrapped the car in it’s Batman themed wrap, designed mainly by Jeff Waldorf with a little input from his wife Karen. Tim has Tim Segars Racing shirts this year with the car featured on them.. Subrena Looney and Tim’s wife Karen sell the shirts at the races, or you can request one on their facebook page, Tim N Karen Segars. Tim won the last race of the season at Huntsville Dragway. He races at Jake’s Dragstrip, in Moulton, Huntsville Dragstrip, I-22 Motorsports Park, Holiday Beach, Montgomery Motorsports and Steele.

Tim’s mentor is the late Toney Russell from Ardmore and owner of the Lowmad.
