Funeral service for Mrs. Marron D. Cox Brown, 97, will be Fri., Dec. 30, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Carroll officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thurs., Dec. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown died on Wed., Dec. 28, 2011 at Walker Baptist Health System. She was born Sept. 17, 1914, in Chilton County to William Barto Cox and Mahala Jane Wyatt Cox. Mrs. Brown and her husband, Howard Brown ran Brown’s Grocery in the Massey Community for 21 years. She was a member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church. She was a kind and giving person and will be missed by friends and family.

She is survived by a son, Curtis Brown and Diane of Falkville; a brother: Ira Cox, Houston, Texas; a sister, Willie Owens, Clanton; two grandchildren, Melissa Henderson and Chris Brown; and two great-grandchildren-Autumn Jones and Zach Brown.
