Frances Hamilton

Funeral for Frances Hamilton, 87, of Plano, Texas was Sat., Dec. 10, at noon at Lebanon Baptist Church with Bro. A. Ray Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Hamilton died Mon., Dec. 5, 2011, at her residence after a brief illness. She was born June 27, 1924, in Morgan County to Miles and Margaret Shoemaker. She was employed by the Morgan County School System as a bus driver and cafeteria worker prior to moving to Longview, Texas, in 1968. She moved to Garland, Texas, in 1988. She was employed by the Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview. After retirement she worked at Mother’s Day Out at the First Baptist Church in Longview. She enjoyed her large flower garden and shared its plants with others and enjoyed sitting outside and visiting with those who came by.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Elmer Hollis Hamilton; an infant daughter, Kathryn Hamilton; her parents; and seven siblings.

She is survived by a daughter, Janice H. Thomas and husband Stephen of Plano, Texas; a sister-in-law, Goldie Shoemaker of Sun City, Calif.; four special nieces, Margaret Arrington of Battleground, Sue Jones and husband Mike of Nashville, Tenn., Dorothy Smith and husband Doyle of Massey, and Terry Tsuchida of Torrance, Calif.; and two special nephews, Theron Hamilton and wife Charlotte of Trinity and Herman Shoemaker and wife Barbara of Mobile; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Faith Presbyterian Hospice, 4350 Sigma Rd., Suite 400, Dallas, TX 75244.
