Funeral for Ruth Coffey Smith, 89, of Falkville will be Thur. (today), Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Ashley and the Rev. Michael Mason officiating.

Burial will be in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith died Mon., Dec. 5, 2011, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Lawrence County to Willie Walton Coffey and Ada Lou Carroll Coffey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J.C. Smith, and her daughter, Charlotte Brett.

She is survived by two sons, Anthony Smith and Keith Smith and wife Marsha, both of Falkville; three sisters, Pauline Smith and Elizabeth Fielding, both of Decatur, and Doris Ferguson of Birmingham; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Keith Smith, Bill Dobbs, Hal Chaney, B.J. Franks, Bobby Rhodes and Wathan Fielding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley.
