Verizon to launch 4G service here

Verizon Wireless will bring its first large-scale 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to the Huntsville area on July 21.

The deployment of Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE in Huntsville also provides LTE coverage throughout the surrounding areas of Athens, Decatur, Hartselle and Madison County. Residents in these areas with 4G LTE smartphones, laptop modems and hotspots will be able to take advantage of speeds up to 10 times faster than the company’s 3G network.

“Verizon Wireless is making the best network even better,” said Jeff Mango, president of the Georgia/Alabama Region of Verizon Wireless. “The activation of our lightning fast 4G LTE network in Huntsville is further evidence of our commitment to and investment in the residents of this area.”
