Hartselle now 32-14

Lady Tigers runner-up in County, Optimist
The Hartselle Lady Tigers are now 32-14 on the season, and ranked seventh in Class 4A-5A as of last Thursday.
Hartselle finished runner-up in the Morgan County Tournament last week, and also finished runner-up in the Athens Optimist Tournament Saturday.
Morgan County Volleyball Tournament
Sarah McNutt and Sarah Whitlow both made the All-Tournament Team, as Hartselle went to the championship match against Austin.
Hartselle won the first game 25-17, but fell 25-20 in the second. In the tie-breaker, Austin won 20-18.
Whitlow finished with 22 assists, while McNutt had 10 kills. Shan Jones and Michelle Major both had eight kills, with Jones blocking eight more. Melanie Mitchell had five kills and eight digs, while Anna Byrd added eight more digs.
In earlier games, Hartselle beat Decatur in two games. Whitlow had 28 assists in the match, while McNutt had 12 kills. Jones and Major had six kills a piece, while Byrd had 10 digs.
The Lady Tigers took care of Decatur Heritage and Priceville in the first two games of the tournament.
Athens Optimist Tournament
The Lady Tigers played in six matches and only lost one.
Its only loss came against fifth-ranked Buckhorn in the championship tilt.
Hartselle lost 25-18 in the first game, but bounced back for a 25-22 win in game two. However, the Lady Tigers fell in the third and deciding game 15-9.
Whitlow had 19 assists, McNutt had 11 kills, Jones had seven kills, while Byrd had seven digs.
In earlier games, Hartselle beat Madison Academy in two games, with McNutt and Jones both hammering 12 kills and Whitlow notching 23 assists.
The Lady Tigers beat Johnson 25-14 and 25-23, Muscle Shoals 25-13 and 25-23, Danville 25-13 and 25-16, and Arab 25-15, 20-25 and 15-4.
Major and Melanie Mitchell both made the All-Tournament Team.
