The Dark Series

By Christine Feehan

The Dark Series by Christine Feehan follows the immortal race of supernatural people called Carpathians. They are a secluded people who have slowly been experiencing extremely low birth rates and many attacks from outside forces. The declining birthrates have left very few women left for their men to marry. Also, each new attack dwindles their male population. The series beings with their prince, Mikhail Dubrinsky, searching for answers of the declining birth rates and lack of women to marry. One answer comes in the form of a human woman, Raven Whitney. Carpathians can marry and convert human physics into Carpathians. Converting them will help their dwindling female population. With each book in the series, the mystery of what is happening to the Carpathian people is slowly unraveled and solved.

This series is a supernatural romance series. There are more than thirty books in the series. The first book is called Dark Prince. You can find the books either in the library, on Libby or on Hoopla.

“Kiss the Girl”

By Zoraida Córdova

Ariel del Mar, along with her six sisters make up the world renown group, the Siren Seven. At the end of their farewell tour, the king of their record label, aka their father, pressures Ariel to branch out on her own immediately instead of a taking a well-deserved break. The night before a big announcement, Ariel and her sister and her assistant sneak out to see an up-and-coming band. Then Ariel meets Eric, who just so happens to be the lead singer of the band. Not ready to go back to her life, where she has no say so in matters, Ariel joins Eric and his band on their first tour. No one knows who she is, and she’d like to keep it that way for as long as possible.

For any reader that enjoys a classic rom-com or a Disney fanatic, this is a book for you. This book is a Disney retelling done on land rather than sea with quite the modern flare. This is the third installment of the “Meant to Be” series. “Kiss the Girl” is brand new and can be found at the library or on Hoopla.
