Ellis named Danville High School principal

Dr. Brian Ellis has been named the new principal of Danville High School.  

Ellis, who is a 15-year veteran of the Morgan County School system comes to Danville from Falkville High School where he was the assistant principal at Falkville High School.  

During his tenure with Morgan County Schools, he has also held positions at the Morgan County Learning Center and Danville High School.  

Ellis’ educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Athens State University, a master’s degree in education from the University of West Alabama in school counseling, an educational specialist degree from Samford University and an educational doctorate from Lipscomb University.  

Ellis said he is privileged to accept the role of principal at Danville.  

“I appreciate the opportunity that the Morgan County Board of Education and Superintendent Tracie Turrentine have given me,” he said. “I am looking forward to working with all the talented teachers and students at Danville High School.  

“It is my hope to be a good steward for the Danville community and afford the students at Danville High School the best educational experience possible.”  

Danville Neel School Open House Danville Neel Elementary School will hold its back-to-school open house Aug. 7-8. First and second grade open house will be held at 1 p.m. while the third and fourth grades will begin at 2 p.m. Kindergarten open house will be held Aug. 8 at 8:30 a.m. Class lists will be posted July 31.
Singspiration announced
The members of New Life Church, located at 1160 West Lacon Rd., in Falkville will hold their Singspiration July 30, at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
