Celebrating 70 years

The Morgan County High School (MCHS) Class of 1953 met May 27 at The Freight House Restaurant to celebrate their 70th reunion. A time of renewing friendships and sharing stories was enjoyed by all. There were 69 in this graduating class.  Attendees included 17 of the 27 still living. Seated left to right are Bobby Ray Brown from Arkansas, Robert Peck, Charles Ray and Carolyn Rause Martin.   

Standing left to right are Shirley Morgan Blankenship from Priceville, JoAnn Dean Slocomb, Laverne Vinzant Byrd, Carolyn Johnson, Marietta Anders Johnson, Ethel (Tiny) Nelson Lemmond, Martha Ann Moss Powell, Nancy Hogan Bustle from Florida, Faye Moss Sparkman, Oliver Townson, John Childers from Florida, Sammy Nunn and Bettye Sanders English. Plans were made for a reunion in 2026.
