Patriots to hold golf tournament fundraiser

The Brewer High School football team will be holding a Classic Golf Tournament fundraiser July 10. The tournament is sponsored by Rob Austin/Alfa and Chris Humphries/State Farm. The Tournament will be held at Cherokee Ridge Country Club with a 8 a.m. shotgun start. The price will be $400/team. Checks can be made payable to Brewer High School Football. All of the proceeds will go toward helping the ream to purchase weight equipment, uniforms, travel expenses, spirit packs and pre-game meals. The tournament ineeds 5-8 more teams for the tournament. They will have 24 teams max and lunch will be provided, and prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, longest drive and closest to the pin. Danville church to hold VBS

Members of Danville Baptist Church will be holding their Vacation Bible School, Danville Baptist Church is located at Highway 36 West, across from Danville Middle School . For more information go to mandy@danvillebaptist.org or call Danville Baptist Church at 256-773-5079.

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church will hold their Vacation Bible School 25-29 from 6-8:30 p.m. Children ages 4 years and up to sixth grade are welcome.

The Town of Falkville participated in the National Day of Prayer. They express thanks to Stephen Cannon for organizing the event, Van Stisher and Vaughn Burden for leading everyone in The National Anthem.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office shares some tips to help the public to not be an easy target for a thief. The tips include, take your keys with you, remove your valuables and lock your vehicle. The Town of Falkville reminds everyone that the deadline to register for the town wide yard Sale is May 19. Anyone interested can go to www.falkville.org to register.
