Priceville softball improves to 11-1 after winning Falkville Invitational

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs improved to 11-1 after winning the Falkville Invitational this past Saturday. They rebounded from a loss to open the tournament to get the tournament win. Priceville head coach Matt Morris picked up victory No. 100 during the tournament.

Priceville 10, Madison Academy 2
Allie Denson had three hits, including a home run and had two RBIs in Priceville’s 10-2 extra-inning win over Madison Academy.

Darby Thigpen had two hits and three RBI, while Segars had two hits and one RBI. Kelsey Green pitched six innings for the win, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out three.

Priceville 13, Falkville 1
The Lady Bulldogs scored 11 runs in the first inning of their 13-1 win over Falkville.

Kirsten Segars had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs to lead Priceville.

Maddie Black had a single and two RBI, while Denson added three hits and one RBI. Green pitched two innings for the win, allowing one run on one hit with three strikeouts.

Priceville 4, Lexington 0
Priceville picked up a 4-0 shutout victory over Lexington. Elizabeth Murphy pitched a no-hitter, allowing one walk in four innings while striking out five.

Madison Lafountain, Thigpen and Denson each had an RBI, while Bentley Black had a hit and two stolen bases.

Priceville 4, Decatur Heritage
Maddie Black pitched a one-hitter and homered as Priceville shutout Decatur Heritage 4-0. She struck out 11 in five innings. Bentley Black had a hit and two RBI, while Denson contributed a double and a triple.

Madison Academy 6, Priceville 0
The Lady Bulldogs dropped their first game of the season in a 6-0 loss to Madison Academy. Thigpen had Priceville’s only hit in the loss.

Priceville 6, Falkville 1
Maddie Black picked up the win after pitching four innings, allowing one hit and striking out six.

Madison Lafountain homered, singled and drove in two runs, while Elizabeth Murphy had a double and two RBIs.

Hope McClanahan had two hits and a run scored to lead Falkville.

Westminster Christian 5, Danville 1
Hallie Watson doubled and drove in a run to lead Danville in a 5-1 loss to Westminster Christian.

Isabella Guest had a double, while Hanah Tillman and McKinley McCaghren each added a hit.

Danville 7, Arab 2
Kirstyn Robinson had two hits and two RBIs to lead Danville in a 7-2 win over Arab.

Emily Lacy had two hits and an RBI, while Guest, McCaghren and Addison Borden each had a hit and an RBI. Tillman had two hits and pitched three innings to earn the win.

West Morgan 7, Danville 2
Danville fell 7-2 to West Morgan. Adily Alberti and Hallie Watson each had an RBI in the loss.

Abby Lindsey pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on two hits while striking out 17.

Kylei Russell had two hits and two RBI to lead West Morgan, while Karly Terry had a hit and two RBI.

Bob Jones 8, Danville 7
Kirstyn Robinson had two hits and two RBI to lead Danville in an 8-7 loss to 7A Bob Jones.

Tamara Hutto and Aubrey Reed each had two hits and an RBI.

Cullman 5, Brewer 1
Bronwyn Borden had two hits and an RBI to lead Brewer in a 5-1 loss to Cullman. Marlee Jones had a double, while Cheyenne Lucas had a hit.

Brewer 3, Lawrence County 0
The Lady Patriots picked up a 3-0 win over Lawrence Co. behind the pitching of Bronwyn Borden, who threw a one-hitter and struck out nine.

Lucas had two hits and an RBI, while Abby Summerford added two hits.
