Girls basketball: Priceville races past West Morgan

Priceville 54, West Morgan 31

The Priceville Lady Bulldogs swept the season series from cross-county rival West Morgan with a 54-31 victory. The Lady Bulldogs improve to 11-5 on the season and 3-1 in area play.

Priceville jumped out to a 17-4 first-quarter lead and led 34-18 at halftime.

Sophomore Leslie Hames finished with 18 points, five steals and three assists to lead Priceville. Older sister Lauren Hames had 15 points and six rebounds, while freshman Abby Langlois totaled eight points, eight boards, five blocks and two steals.

Ansley Terry led West Morgan (8-8, 0-4) with 18 points.

Falkville 50, Danville 41

The Lady Blue Devils picked up a 50-41 win over rival Danville last Wednesday. The game was delayed due to inclement weather earlier in the week.

Ellie Cate Hill finished with 16 points, five rebounds and four steals to lead Falkville (10-6). Ella Wallace added 16 points and four rebounds. Abbey Grace Tomlin had 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals.

Madlyn McCreless led Danville (8-8) with 15 points, while Elisabeth Hand had 13 rebounds.

Holly Pond 43, Falkville 31

The Lady Blue Devils dropped to 10-7 and 1-2 in area play with a 43-31 loss to Holly Pond.

Ellie Cate Hill led Falkville with nine points, while Ella Wallace scored eight. Liza Wallace added seven.

Madison Butts finished with 17 points for Holly Pond.

Lawrence County 49, Brewer 40

The Brewer Lady Patriots dropped a 49-40 decision to Lawrence County to fall to 4-11 overall and 1-2 in area play.

Chloe Romine finished with 15 points and five rebounds to lead Brewer. Jacey Atkinson added nine points, four rebounds and two assists, while Lily Yancey had six points, eight rebounds and two steals.

Savannah Williams scored 15 points to lead Lawrence County (9-3, 2-0), while Taylor Williams had 14 points.

Phil Campbell 48, Danville 41

The Danville Lady Hawks dropped into a tie with Phil Campbell atop the 3A Area 15 standings with a 48-41 loss to the Lady Bobcats.

Elisabeth Hand finished with 15 points to lead Danville (8-9, 3-1). Madlyn McCreless added 13 points and four rebounds.

Macy Hardy finished with 17 points to lead Phil Campbell (8-7, 3-1). Hannah Welborn added 11 points.
