Brewer, Danville and Priceville open the 2022 season with wins

The 2022 volleyball season kicked off this past Thursday, with several local teams playing their first matches of the season.

Danville
The 3A no. 5 Danville Lady Hawks opened with a 2-0 over Randolph (25-12, 25-8) and a 2-0 loss to Guntersville (21-25, 22-25)

Faith Parker led the Lady Hawks with 15 kills, 11 digs and three blocks. Elisabeth Hand had nine kills and three aces, while Emily Lacy had 30 digs.

On Saturday, the Lady Hawks participated in the Liberty Bank Invitational at Geraldine. Danville picked up wins over Crossville, Guntersville, Shelby County and Ider while falling to Plainview.

Faith Parker led the team with 45 kills, 27 digs and four blocks. Lillie-Kate Eddy added 27 kills, eight aces and two blocks.

Priceville
The Lady Bulldogs swept a tri-match with Central-Florence and Lindsay Lane. They defeated the Lady Wildcats 2-0 (25-13, 25-22) and the Lady Lions 2-0 (25-15, 27-25).

Katelyn Falciani led Priceville with 15 kills, Ashlyn Johnson had 24 assists and Lacey Clark had 12 digs.

The Lady Bulldogs won two in a quad-match at Lawrence County on Saturday. Priceville defeated Muscle Shoals 2-0 (25-20, 25-19) and Cullman 2-1 (18-25, 25-23, 15-12), while falling to Lawrence County 2-1 (21-25, 25-18, 15-12).

Katelyn Falciani led Priceville with 26 kills, while Zoey Benson had 19 kills and 17 digs. Ashlyn Johnson finished with 52 assists and Lacey Clark had 20 digs.

Brewer
Brewer opened the season by splitting a tri-match with Buckhorn and Decatur. The Lady Patriots fell to Buckhorn 2-0 (25-22, 25-21) while defeating Decatur 2-0 (25-18, 25-18).

Jacey Atkinson led Brewer with 84 assists, while Bronwyn Borden had 54 digs.
