Danville FFA attends convention 

Danville FFA students had a great week at the 94th annual Sstate FFA contest and convention Auburn University at Montgomery. Danville AG teacher Travis Alred said it was great to return to normal after three years of attending the conventional virtually. The Danville floriculture team placed in the top 10 at the state contest and at the state convention they also received the following awards:  

100 percent membership award 

While there the students got to visit the state capital, attend a Montgomery Biscuits baseball game and the Hank Williams Memorial.  They expressed their thanks to the Morgan County Farmers Federation for helping to make their trip possible. Those attending the convention were Clayton Copeland, Charlie Jones, Preston Lindley, Zac Vest, Phoenex Park and AG Teacher Travis Alred.  

Falkville library holds summer reading program Falkville librarian Jenny Asherbranner is pleased to announce the schedule for the summer reading program. The reading program will be held on Thursdays in July in the courtroom at 2 p.m. They will have different presenters each week. They will also have rewards for reading and a pizza and sundae party the last week of July. All ages are welcome to attend and parents should plan to stay since the reading program will be 45 minutes per meeting.  

Shady Grove Church Activities  

Members of Shady Grove Baptist Church express their congratulations to Luke Campbell, on his graduation from Calhoun Community College, on May 12th. He received an associate degree in applied science, a certificate in advanced manufacturing and process technology. Luke made the Dean’s list and is employed at Daikin.  

The Sav-A-Life Baby Ministry is in need of donations of new or used clothes for newborn-3T; as well as diapers, wipes, bottles, bibs and other items.  Please see a Shady Grove Church member if you have a donation.
