Area softball teams advance to regional tournaments

Brewer, Danville, Falkville, and Priceville advanced to this week’s regional tournaments in softball with runner-up finishes in their area tournaments.

The Brewer Lady Patriots dropped two one-run ballgames to Guntersville in finishing second to the Lady Wildcats in the 5A Area 14 tournament. Brewer advances to the East Central Regional in Albertville at Sand Mountain Park. The Lady Patriots open with Moody in round one.

Danville advanced to the North Regional in Florence at the Sportsplex with a runner-up finish to East Lawrence in the 3A Area 15 tournament. The Lady Hawks open with Carbon Hill.

Falkville advanced to the North Regional with a runner-up finish to Hatton in the 2A Area 13 tournament. The Lady Blue Devils open with Mars Hill.

Priceville shocked West Limestone in a losers bracket game to advance to the North Regional. The Lady Wildcats had defeated the Lady Bulldogs in the opening game of the 4A Area 15 tournament 14-4. Priceville finished runner-up to West Morgan. The Lady Bulldogs open with 4A #1 Curry.
