Friday is a colorful day for students at F.E. Burleson Elementary School. Sponsored by Decatur Bottling, Coca Cola, Jeremy Jones of Parker Real Estate and Dr. Brian James, students participated in a Color Run to raise money for new physical education equipment. Coaches Blake Harbin and Tanya Yocom organized the event, along with other fundraisers that in total raised $30,375 for the school. Harbin said the original goal was $15,000. “It was incredible. We have great kids and a wonderful community,” he added. With the funds, Harbin said the gymnasium at Burleson will be updated, the basketball court will be resurfaced, and more technology will be added for students to use.
