Girls Basketball Roundup: Brewer girls pick up wins over Danville, West Morgan

Brewer picked up two wins over county foes to finish the week undefeated. Priceville went 2-1 with wins over Ardmore and West Morgan while dropping a road game at East Limestone.

Brewer 39, West Morgan 24

Friday the Brewer girls picked up a 39-24 road win at West Morgan. The Lady Patriots led 11-4 after the first quarter and 21-13 at halftime.

Lilly Yancey led Brewer (8-17) with 10 points and four rebounds. Jacey Atkinson had nine points, six rebounds, three steals and a block. Chloe Romine had six points and six rebounds, while Hope West added five points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Ansley Terry finished with 13 points for West Morgan.

Brewer 57, Danville 40

Brewer picked up a 57-40 win over Danville Jan. 25. The Lady Patriots led 24-18 at halftime. They finished the game by outscoring the Lady Hawks 24-14 in the fourth quarter.

West finished with a double-double, 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Lady Patriots. She also had six steals. Romine had 20 points and four rebounds.

Adily Alberti led Danville with 13 points and eight rebounds. Alyssa Brooks added eight points, six rebounds and four blocks.

East Limestone girls 71, Priceville 58
Priceville fell 71-58 on the road at East Limestone Friday night. The Lady Bulldogs trailed 35-32 at the half before being outscored 36-26 in the second half.

Zoey Benson finished with 19 points, five rebounds and two blocks to lead Priceville. Lauren Hames added 10 points, while Leslie Hames had seven points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Taylor Farrar led East Limestone with 26 points.

Priceville 72, West Morgan 45
The Lady Bulldogs picked up a season sweep of West Morgan in a 72-45 win Jan. 25. Priceville trailed 21-13 following the first quarter but dominated the rest of the game, outscoring the Lady Rebels 59-24, including 26-6 in the third quarter.

Benson finished with a season-high 29 points to lead Priceville (19-4). She also pulled down seven rebounds. Lauren Hames finished with 20 points and five rebounds. Leslie Hames added nine points and five assists. Gracin Potter had eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Breanna Howard led West Morgan with 12 points, while Terry scored 11.

Priceville 78, Ardmore 34
Priceville opened the game by outscoring Ardmore 20-5 in the first quarter on the way to a 78-34 win Jan. 24

Leslie Hames scored a career-high 26 points with five rebounds and five steals to lead the Lady Bulldogs (18-4). Benson added 17 points, while Kylie Hendrix and Lillyan Bloodworth each had six points. Olivia Gann added five points, five assists and five steals.

Sarah Phillips scored 15 points for Ardmore.

Hatton 40, Falkville 37
Falkville failed to protect the home court in a 40-37 loss to Hatton. The Lady Blue Devils led 11-3 following the first quarter and were tied at 28-28 after three quarters before the eventual loss.

Ellie Cate Hill led all scorers with 22 points for Falkville.

Chloe Gargis had 18 points to lead Hatton.

Falkville 57, Danville 51
The Lady Blue Devils picked up a rivalry win over Danville Jan. 24. Falkville led 13-9 after one quarter and 30-19 at halftime on the way to a 57-51 victory.

Hill finished with 22 points, five rebounds and three steals to lead Falkville. Abby Grace Tomlin added 11 points, eight steals and six rebounds. Ella Wallace scored eight, and Allie Smith added six.

Alyssa Brooks led Danville with 13 points, while Madalyn McCreless added 12 points.
