Falkville to replace A/C unit for court

Falkville Council discussed the replacement of the central heating and cooling unit for the municipal courtroom at a work session Jan. 27.

Mayor Ken Winkles reported getting a quote of $5,800 for a new unit from Taylor Heating & Cooling in Hartselle and requested authorization to make the purchase.

Council members were in agreement with his request and indicated they would consider

its approval at the next regular council meeting. If approved, funding would be made from the Court Fund.

Other items approved for the next regular meeting’s agenda are listed as follows:

•Consider a renewal contract with the Morgan County Commission to use the Morgan County Jail to house municipal inmates for $31per day, effective April 1, 2020. The new rate represents an $8 per day increase, effective for one year.
