Hartselle 7th grade girls basketball team completes undefeated season

The Hartselle Junior High’s 7th-grade girls basketball team capped off a perfect season by winning the Decatur Middle School tournament last Thursday.

They defeated Austin Middle School 24-17 in the finals after defeating Decatur Middle 37-2 in the first round.

The Lady Tigers finished the season with an 18-0 record. They won the West Point Middle School tournament, the Athens Christmas tournament, and the Decatur Middle School tournament.

“They are a very talented group,” said Coach Christ Ferguson. “The team has worked really hard in the offseason and this school year to have a successful season. The future is very bright for this group of girls.”

Team members include Lily Douglass, Gracie Hill, Ella Springer, Lainey Weaver, VK Hoyle, Halle Ransom,  Morgan Osborn, Mary Frances Itsede, Anna Hampton Burroughs, Genie McGhee, Marina Hawkins, Aniya Young, Katie Gillott, and Hallie Watson.

The coaches are Christy Ferguson & Alice Anne Glasgow.
