Hartselle High softball senior signs for college

Chaney Dutton, a 2020 Hartselle High softball senior signed a scholarship with Martin Methodist in a ceremony Nov. 6.“Today was a surreal experience. I have always been on the outside looking in at others signing their scholarships, and today was my turn,” said Dutton, who was joined by her family and coaches from both Hartselle and Martin Methodist for the signing ceremony. “I mademy own memory.”Dutton has played softball since the age of 4.She said it was at age 10 that she knew she wanted to play college softball.From there her journey started continued with working every summer and fall to accomplish her dream.Her greatest supporters, Dutton said, are her family: parents Brandon and Jamie Dutton and brothers Coen and Casen.“Many sacrifices have been made for me to accomplish my dream,” Dutton said, “and I am forever grateful.”
