Davidson Homes and the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce held a groundbreaking ceremony June 25 to celebrate the construction of a new housing community in Hartselle. The groundbreaking took place off Garner Road in Hartselle where the community will be built and brought together city officials and Davidson Home representatives. 

Lindsey Tapscott is the director of marketing for Davidson Homes and said the groundbreaking was a way to bring in city officials to see the plans for the new development. “We are getting really close to opening up for sale and we wanted to get with city officials and let them see what we have planned product wise. Many of us are from the Hartselle area, so we are really excited about this particular community and we wanted to share that with everybody that has helped make it possible,” Tapscott said. 

Dustin McNutt is the Huntsville division president with Davidson and said the new community will feature several homes in the $180,000 – $200,000 price range. The community will be built over the course of several phases initially bringing 46 homes to the area with plans for a total of 135. 

“There is a huge demand for housing in Hartselle. In this particular price point there is a significant deficit of homes on the ground and available to be purchased, not only new homes but in resale also,” McNutt said. 

The community will be made up of homes of varying sizes. According to McNutt there will be single story homes that are three bedrooms and two baths as well are larger two story homes that are five bedrooms. 

“This will be a family community, very family oriented. We expect to see a lot of young families, a lot of new families with school age kids. With the subdivision being so close to the park and the school system it is a great location,” McNutt said. 

The community will hold a VIP event to show interested buyers floor plans and additional details for the homes. Tapscott said that interested parties can sign up for additional information online or contact them by calling 877-999-2009. 

“People are really excited about this, and we can’t wait to be able to come together for that event and be able to release the plans and the pricing and everything to choose from,” Tapscott said. 

McNutt said several people involved with the project are Hartselle High graduates and were excited to be bringing the new development to their hometown. “We got involved with Davidson home and got to experience some great things there. For us, it is exciting to see it come back to our hometown and do that here in our backyards,” McNutt said.
