James “Pete” Wilson

Funeral for James “Pete” Wilson, 71, of Hartselle will be Sat., Aug. 29, at 2 p.m. at Somerville Baptist Church with Dr. Shane Lewis and Bro. Josh Grubbs officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Fri., Aug. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilson died Wed., Aug. 26, 2015, at his residence. He was born June 16, 1944, in Morgan County to William Perry Wilson and Kittie Lou Jenkins Wilson. He was a member of Somerville Baptist Church and worked in maintenance for Sexton Can Company prior to retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Berta Wilson of Hartselle; three sons, Jimmy Wilson of Hartselle, Christopher Wilson (Cathi) of Hartselle and Matthew Wilson of Cullman; three daughters, Lou Ann Simmons (Bob) of Unionville, Tenn., Stacy Lacy (David) of Hartselle and Therese Roberts (Greg) of Somerville; a brother, Harold Wilson (Vivian) of Somerville; two sisters, Ilene Smith of Somerville and Shirene Crowe (Bobby) of Somerville; 10 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Alldredge, Cecil Berry, Lewis Fitcher, Greg Bradford, Stan Finley and Charles Teague.
