Hartselle Varsity, JV soccer teams sweep Muscle Shoals at home

The Hartselle Varsity Boys and Junior Varsity Boys swept a soccer doubleheader Monday evening, getting the best of section foe Muscle Shoals.
The Varsity team scored three goals in the first half, the first two within 1:35, and held off the Trojans 3-2. The Junior Varsity Tigers won 1-0.

Josh Metz set the tone early.
Metz scored two goals, one at the :30 mark and the other at 1:35 mark, to put Hartselle ahead 2-0.
His first goal was unassisted, while Richie Nagel was credited with an assist on his second goal.
It was the first of two assists for Nagel, who helped out on Mokthar Hajialiulu's goal later in the half.
Hartselle led 3-1 before Muscle Shoals added a penalty kick goal in the 76th minute.
Justin Knight made seven saves for the Tigers.

Junior Varsity
Andrew Pressley recorded his fourth shutout of the year in goal, needing just two saves for the win Monday night.
Both Hartselle and Muscle Shoals were scoreless in the first half, but Aaron Burleson broke the tie with a goal in the 44th minute.
