Davis finishes 6th place at MLK event

Hartselle’s Abigail Davis finishes sixth in the 3,200m run during the Martin Luther King Jr. Indoor Track Classic at the Birmingham Crossplex Jan. 19.

Davis was the only person to score for Hartselle during an indoor meet that included more than 40 teams from all seven classifications. She helped Hartselle finish in a tie for 32nd place.

Davis had a time of 12:03.04 in a race that featured Amaris Tynismaa of Catholic-Montgomery setting a new meet record with 10:39.94.

Davis also finished 19th in the 1,600m race with 5:38.64.

On the boys side, Mason McGee narrowly missed scoring for Hartselle in the 60m hurdles. His time of 9 seconds was good enough for ninth place.

The Tigers’ 4x100m relay team also finished 10th with a time of 3:52.33.
