Hartselle shuts out Muscle Shoals, earns ninth win

Hartselle’s boys soccer team blanked Muscle Shoals again 3-0 Thursday night at home to improve to 2-0 in section play.

Senior Ian Cummins,who has scored eight goals in the last three games for the Hartselle (9-2-2), scored in the 22nd minute after the Trojans’ keeper bobbled a shot from Branden Walker.

Walker added the second goal in the 35th minute from a cross by Austin Davis. Cummins scored the final goal in the 77th minute from a cross by Jacob Pohl.

Cummins had three goals in the Tigers’ 7-1 win over West Morgan March 6.

Hartselle shut out Muscle Shoals 3-0 March 11 thanks to another “hat trick” by Cummins. Austin Davis also had an assist.

The JV boys also defeated West Morgan 3-1 and Muscle Shoals 5-1 and 4-0.

The Tigers continue section play Tuesday at 7 JP Cain Stadium against Athens and Thursday at 7 at East Limestone.
