All-Area Team announced

The Hartselle Enquirer has announced its All-Area team for the 2013 volleyball season. The player of the year will be announced next week.

First team

Sydni Shelton, Danville – Kills: 837 (0.369 hitting percentage), Blocks: 69, Aces: 88, Digs: 403, Assists: 130 (3rd on team).

Cheyenne Mclemore, Brewer – 2.6 kills a set, 5 digs a set, 1 ace a set. She handled 519 serve receptions and only made nine errors.

Haley Jared, Hartselle – 79 Aces, 601 kills, 13 assists, 555 digs, 124 blocks. Haley is a 4 year starter. 2013 all-state all-tournament team. 2013 all-area and all-county.

Riley Northway, Brewer – 4.6 kills a set, 1.6 blocks a set, Hitting per .371

Melissa-Paul Hill, Hartselle – 49 aces, 184 kills, 1521 assists, 428 digs, 61 blocks, 2013 AHSAA North all-star player, 2013 all-area.

Kheala Roberts, Danville – Kills: 572 (2nd on team), Blocks: 89 (team leader), Aces: 84 (2nd on team) and Digs: 367 (3rd on team).

Second Team

Taylor Lybarger, Hartselle – 127 aces, 538 kills, 13 assists, 572 digs, 39 blocks. Taylor is a 4 year starter. 2012 all-state all-tournament team, 2013 AHSAA North all-star player, 2013 all-area and all-county.

Charlee Anderson Danville – Assists: 948 (team leader). Aces: 81 (3rd on team). Digs: 176. Blocks: 18. Kills: 28.

Savana Flack, Brewer – 3.8 kills a set, 1.5 aces a set, 1 block a set.

Alison Varner, Priceville – 337 kills, 92.4 serving percentage. 57 aces.

Peyton Parker , Priceville – 740 assists (averaged 6.4 assists per game), 98.6% serve percentage, 43 aces, 112 digs

Sarah Ellen Battles, Hartselle – 38 aces, 10 kills, 58 assists, 884 digs 2013 all-area

Honorable Mention

Hartselle –, Megan Zuck, Jordan Barbrey and Bailey Powell

Danville – Sloan Lindsey, Andrea Carter and Kellee Stiles
