HHS Alumni Association plans tailgate dinner Oct. 4

Hartselle High School Alumni Association and Morgan County Cattlemen’s Association are teaming up to offer football fans a taste-tempting grilled steak tailgate dinner prior to the Hartselle vs. Muscle Shoals game Fri., Oct. 4.

The second annual Tailgate Dinner will be served under a big tent located in a field on the west side of Hartselle Intermediate School. The menu will consist of a grilled rib eye steak sandwich, dessert and drink. The meal costs $10 and the diner has a choice of eating in under the big top or eating on the bleachers while watching the Tigers and Trojans warm up before the game. The food line will open at 5 p.m. and close just before kickoff.

“What better way to make a Friday night game something special than to have a delicious steak dinner waiting for you when you arrive at the stadium,” said Tresa McGhee, president of the Alumni Association? “We had good response to our first pre-game tailgate but we’re counting on this one being even bigger. Our goal is to sell 500 dinners.”

She encouraged football fans to purchase their tickets in advance. They may be picked up at the Hartselle High School Office, Hartselle Enquirer, Corum’s Building Supply, Copeland’s Classic Cleaners and the dental office of Dr. David Sittason.

McGhee said profit from the dinner will be used to help pay off a loan for the new digital sign at Hartselle High School.

The cattlemen will grill steaks for a scholarship fund.
