Funeral for Roy Gordon McCurry, 78, of Hartselle was Tues., Sept. 24, at 11:00 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Smallwood officiating.

Burial with military honors was in Falkville City Cemetery.

Mr. McCurry died Sun., Sept. 22, 2013, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born March 30, 1935, in Etowah County to Gordon D. McCurry and Nezzie Lane McCurry. He was a member of Cross Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley McCurry of Hartselle; a son, Mike McCurry of Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Phyllis Lawrence and husband Billy of Jacksonville, Fla., Cissy Waddell and husband George of Hartselle and Connie Hall and husband Kenny of Trinity; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends were pallbearers.
