New Center Baptist plans picnic

Have you ever said I can’t think of anything God has done for me, how can I praise Him? Psalm 117: 1-2 says: 1) Praise the Lord all ye nations, praise Him all ye people. 2) For His merciful kindness is great toward us and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord. This Psalm gives us two reasons for praising God. He is merciful and His truth endures forever.

I can think of one reason as well. It’s God’s love for the whole world. We should praise God for His unlimited love. If He did nothing else for us our whole lives, He would still be worthy of our highest praise.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the families of Geraldine Keaton, Marshall Bryan, Jim Grissom and Lucille Moon.

Belated birthday wishes go out to Kathy Ray, Frank Hanners, New Center Baptist Church (1886), Elijah Halbrooks, Tim Rayman, Darryl Gulley, Bill Stinson, Doug Fortenberry, David Dean, Ann Wilborn, Gracie Garnett, Jim Gibson, Karen Plemons, Heather Ferguson, Shelly Howard, Peggy Phillips, Dale Minemon, Dee Walker, Zach Menley and Chuck Ray.

Pat Halbrooks, co-ordinator of the golf tournament at Quail Creek (sponsored by New Center Church) expresses special thanks to everyone who helped with the event. It was a great success in helping to send out the mission team. May God bless each of you.

New Center Baptist Church announces plans for a church-wide picnic Sun., Sept. 22, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the church. The men will be grilling and there will be games, food and fun. Make your plans now to attend.

Food for thought: Three ways God answers prayers: yes, no, wait.
