William C. ‘Buddy’ Maze

Funeral for William C. “Buddy” Maze, 79, of Hartselle, was Wed., August 28, at 11 at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Blackman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Mr. Maze died Sun., Aug. 25, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born June 13, 1934, in Morgan County to William Joseph Maze and Mamie Lois Reeves Maze. Mr. Maze was a member of East Highland Baptist Church. He was formerly employed by Nashville Express Company in Birmingham as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Learlene Southern, Evelyn Blankenship and Wilma Cheatham.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Maze of Hartselle; a daughter, Cindy Maze Grove and husband David of Hartselle; two brothers, Leo Maze and wife Yvonne and Jimmy Maze and wife Barbara, both of Somerville; two sisters, Betty McCarter and Bobbie Stinson and husband Jimmy, both of Somerville; four grandchildren, Wesley Grove, Nathan Grove, Hayden Grove Furmanek and Haley Grove.

Pallbearers were David Grove, Wesley Grove, Nathan Grove, Danny Melson, Bill Southern and Mike Watson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Alacare Hospice or to Gideon Bible.
