HHS named ‘Heart-Safe’ school
Alabama LifeStart honored 15 schools for having incorporated automated external defibrillator training into their student health or physical education curriculum.
Hartselle High School was among the 15 schools awarded the title of a “Heart-Safe School.” HHS was the only school in Morgan County to receive this honor.
Every public middle, junior high and high school in the state was equipped in 2011 with at least one AED by Alabama LifeStart, Children’s of Alabama and Lord Wedgwood Charity. This coming school year, all students at these “Heart-Safe Schools” will have the opportunity to learn how to use these AEDs in the event of a cardiac emergency.
