Funeral for Guy W. Sterling, 82, of Danville was Sun., Oct. 3, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Dickens and Richard Sport officiating.
Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Sterling died Fri., Oct. 1, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1928, in Lawrence County to John Franklin Sterling and Josie Elizabeth Johnson Sterling. He was a retired fork lift operator for Fruehauf Corp. in Decatur, a member of Danville Church of Christ and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Sterling Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Silveree Sterling; two sons, John Sterling and wife Penny of Danville and Roger Hardin and wife Jane of Athens; a daughter, Tracey Sterling Thomas and husband Jarrod of Danville; a brother, John Wentford Sterling and wife Olene of Moulton; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steven Sterling, Heath McDonald, Steve Sassor, Larry Sterling, Glen Hardin and Gwen Hardin.
Honorary pallbearers were Caden McDonald and Samuel Sterling.
