Franklin Edward Dean

Franklin Edward Dean, 73, of Leonardtown, Md., died Fri., May 7, 2010, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born Aug. 19, 1936, in Hartselle to Moltie and Florence Dean. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked at Cedar Lane Assisted Living facility for 16 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joe Dean; two sisters, Jeannette Dean and Mary Ellen Landers; a sister-in-law, Gloria Dean; and brothers-in-law, Mack Landers and Guy Jackson, all of Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Dean of Leonardtown, Md.; a daughter, Terry Bohannon and husband Bob of Manassas, Va.; three grandchildren, Bobby Whitehead of Stevens Point, Wisc., Heather Whitehead of Fairfax, Va. and Melissa Whitehead of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc.; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Dean of New York, Bobby Dean and wife Jean of Alabama and Roy Brownie Dean and wife Ginger of Georgia.; a sister, Margaret Mayfield and husband Thermon of Alabama; three sisters-in-law, Ella Dean, Edna Rutsey and husband Jim and Delores Poole and husband Doug, all of Alabama; three brothers-in-law, John McCalman and wife Jean McCalman of North Carolina and Felix McCalman and wife Jeri and Michael McCalman and wife Carol, all of Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and friends.
