School buses slide in ditches, no injuries
At least two Hartselle school buses slid into ditches and another lost traction while transporting students home Thursday afternoon.
However, School Superintendent Dr. Mike Reed said that the incidents caused delays in the chidren getting home, but there were no issues.
“Everyone is now safe and sound at home now,” Reed said. “We had a couple of buses slide into a ditch. Another one lost traction on the road and couldn’t move. We sent buses to pick up the kids and continue their route, but there was no injuries and no damage.”
Reed said he and Director of Transportation William Booth stayed at the central office until all of the students were transported home.
“But that’s something we do every day,” Reed said.
