Bank Independent to collect toys for charity

Bank Independent is teaming up with WAFF 48 for the second year in a row for the Joy of Sharing Toy Drive Campaign. With its launch on Thanksgiving Day, all Morgan County Bank Independent locations will be exclusive drop-off destinations for collecting toys to distribute to the Committee on Church Cooperation.

In 2011, Bank Independent collected over 1,500 toys for seven organizations throughout North Alabama, with over 450 toys collected for the Committee on Church Cooperation (CCC). This year, Bank Independent will partner with local organizations in each county, which include Committee of Church Cooperation, DHR of Limestone County, Toys for Tots, William Porter Foundation, Safeplace Shoals, Lauderdale County Christian Children’s Home, Lexington School’s Angel Tree Program, Cornerstone Church of Lawrence County and Franklin County Fire Department in partnership with their toy drive.

“Last year’s donations made a huge difference to the Committee on Church Cooperation,” shares Decatur Area President David Mathews. “We have some of the most giving customers and citizens in the Hartselle community. Last year, we were able to provide local children with over 450 toys, and we hope to provide them with even more this year.”

Bins will be available to drop off toys for the CCC at the Hartselle Bank Independent at 902 Highway 31 North until Wed., Dec. 19. All Bank Independent locations in Colbert, Lauderdale, Morgan, Franklin, Limestone and Lawrence County will be toy drop-off locations, with all of the toys donated to local organizations according to the area.

For more information on the CCC, please call 256-355-8893.
