U16/17 River City Raptors win state

The 2012 River City Raptors D2 Club team recently won the AYSA U16/17 State Championship.

This team is based out of Decatur and has three Hartselle High School students that play on the Club: Caroline Partlow – sophomore, Stefanie Evans – sophomore and Lori Milligan – freshman.

During the AYSA State Regular Season, the team finished 7-0-1, outscoring opponents 30-2.

The Raptors won the championship game 2-0 against Valley Football Club 97.

The Governors/State Cup is the State Championship. It was held on two weekends at Jack Allen and Point Mallard earlier this year. This Raptors team was the only River City Raptors team to win state, although several Revolution and Raptors team played in the tournament.

This Raptors team will represent the state in the Presidents Cup this June.
