Thomas F. ‘Cotton’ McDaniel

Funeral for Thomas F. “Cotton” McDaniel, 91, of Falkville was Wednesday, August 12, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rob Cain officiating.

Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.

Mr. McDaniel died Monday, August 10, 2009, at Falkville Health Care Center. He was born December 4, 1917, in Morgan County to Thomas Arthur McDaniel and Maude Turney McDaniel. He worked as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 70 years and had worked in Guam, Midway, Wake and Pearl Harbor during World War II. He loved the outdoors and was known all over the South for his hunting and fishing accomplishments. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John McDaniel and Joseph McDaniel and a sister, Mary Grace McDaniel Dunn.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Paul “Mossy” McDaniel of Hartselle; a son, Frank McDaniel and wife Sherry of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Brandy McClendon and Mike McDaniel; and a great-grandchild, Kaldan Rose McClendon.

Pallbearers were family and friends.
