Strickland, Wood wed Aug. 10

Ashley Paige Strickland of Hartselle and Steve Glenn Wood of Hartselle were wed Aug. 10, 2002 at 4 p.m. at the Wedding Chapel on the Mountain in Huntsville. The Rev. Milan Dekich officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rowe Strickland of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Odis Glenn Wood of Hartselle.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a formal ballgown featuring a halter neckline detailed with pearls and iridescents. The princess-style skirt featured an extremely full, multi-layered tulle chapel train. A headband of rhinestones and pearls held a cathedral veil of French tulle. She carried a bouquet of multi-colored roses, accented with greenery.

Rowe S. Marler, sister of the bride, of Hartselle was matron of honor and Stacy Lane Strickland, sister of the bride, of Birmingham, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Sarah Rebecca Williams of Birmingham, Sheree Wood Crider, sister of the groom, of Albany, Ga. and Kelly Lynn McKee of Hartselle.

Flower girl was Sarah Benton Crow and Maggie Beth Crow, both of Hartselle.

Bradley Steven Drake of Birmingham was best man. Groomsmen were Odie Glenn Wood, father of the groom, of Hartselle, Lucas A. Crider of Albany, Ga., James Nathan Harvell of Decatur, Matthew Peyton Strickland, brother of the bride, of Hartselle.

Ring bearer was Kaylea Morris of Falkville.

A reception was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Huntsville.

The wedding was directed by Whitney C. Wright. Sarah Ranae Cunningham of Tulsa, Okla. attended the bride’s book.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Hartselle.

The couple was honored with a rehearsal dinner at the Marriott Hotel the night before the wedding. The event was hosted by the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Odis Glenn Wood.
